Supervision
During supervision, you will be provided with guidance, oversight, and support to counselors or therapists seeking advanced licensure.
Supervision Modalities:
Directive Supervision: Providing specific instructions and guidance.
Non-Directive Supervision: Allow the supervisee autonomy, encouraging them to make their own decisions and learn from the outcomes.
Developmental Supervision: Focusing on the growth and development of the supervisee.
Reflective Supervision: Emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and introspection in the supervisee's clinical practice.
Group Supervision: Conducting supervision in a group setting, allowing multiple supervisees to learn from each other's experiences.
Components of Supervision
Clinical Oversight: Ensure that the counseling services provided are of high quality and ethically sound. Review cases, treatment plans, and progress to offer feedback and guidance.
Professional Development: Help supervisees develop their clinical skills and knowledge. Provide training, suggest relevant readings, and share insights from experience.
Ethical Guidance: Help supervisees navigate ethical dilemmas that may arise in clinical practice. Offer insight into ethical guidelines and standards and help supervisees make appropriate decisions.
Case Consultation: Provide a platform for supervisees to discuss challenging cases. Offer different perspectives and suggestions for effective interventions.
Personal Growth: Supports the personal and emotional growth of supervisees. Help supervisees manage their reactions to challenging cases and provide a safe space to reflect on their own emotions and reactions.
Evaluation and Feedback: Regular evaluations are conducted to assess the progress of supervisees.Constructive feedback is given to help improve clinical skills and overall practice.

Licensure State of Ohio: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision Designation.
